Dry Vs. Dehydrated Skin

Dry skin: Unlike dehydrated skin, dry skin lacks oil. We hate to be the bearer of bad news, but dry skin isn't a temporary "condition"; it's actually considered a skin type that needs to be tended to and treated daily.

A dead giveaway that you're dealing with dry skin vs. dehydrated? TEXTURE. Seeing rough, cracked, almost "leathery" any age? That's what we're talking about.

So what do you do about dry skin?
Reach for products that provide MOISTURE like WLDKAT STARFLOWER + SNOW MUSHROOM sleep mask or SAFFRON + OAT MILK glow serum.

Dehydrated skin: On the other side of the coin, dehydrated skin is a usually temporary condition that nearly anyone can deal with from time to time, no matter your underlying skin type. Instead of lacking oil, dehydrated skin lacks water. I.e. It's parched. Skin can appear to look flat and dull, at times over compensating with too much oil production. So yeah, you can get pimples or white heads when your skin is actually dehydrated. Ironic yeah?

What can cause dehydrated skin? Change in the seasons causing a dry environment, sleeping with drying ACs or heaters, or using potentially harsh or stripping active ingredients can all contribute.

So what do you do about dehydrated skin?
Look for things that bring in water. Use Hyaluronic Acid on damp skin, face mists, and anything that water based. We love our GINGER + KOMBUCHA bubbling skin tonic + MUSHROOM + MOSS gel cream as great picks to help quench your skin's thirst.
