For our first feature, we’re spending time with our founder and CEO Amy Zunzunegui and talking about who her favorite skincare children are at the moment (you know she couldn’t pick one), what some of the major highlights have been for her over the past 6 months, and what she’s looking forward to seeing in the near future for herself and the brand.

What are your favorite WLDKAT products? Three products please and why you love them.

AZ: “Why do you make me pick a favorite child??? WHY?!? I must pick 4.

• Patchouli + Cherimoya gel cleanser Cleansers aren’t the sexiest product, but this one is sexy. The smell, the bubbles and how hard it works makes it SO good. My son sells me on it almost every night as he tells me how much he loves using it. I love using it as a body wash and even as a shaving product too.  
• Yucca + Lactic Acid liquid exfoliant This baby changed my life. I was a physical exfoliant lady until we finalized this vegan LE formula. Since using this, I have not physically exfoliated by skin in months and my skin has never been clearer. I get really clogged pores quickly due to my oily skin, plus lots of sweating during workouts, plus lots of stress and this melts all of that away. Chef’s kiss.
• Orchid Stem-Cell + Magnolia Berry adaptogen eye gel My life before WLDKAT was spent in color cosmetics so wearing a good amount of makeup, especially eye makeup, was part of my daily routine. So, it made sense that when developing an eye treatment, it had to work not only during a nighttime routine but also perfectly under makeup. Our eye gel is lightweight, cool to the touch, and fills in those little lines providing a smooth canvas. I am obsessed. 
• Starflower + Snow Mushroom ultra-hydrating sleep mask When you are a greasy human like me, heavy creams and moisturizers can be scary (even though you know if your head you might need them.)  The moment I tested this formula, I was in love. It gives skin amazing hydration in the driest of situations but doesn’t feel heavy or greasy at all. I was waiting in the lobby for my workout class to start and a woman walked out of the previous class and stopped right in front of me. I had seen her almost every morning when classes changed over so I assumed she was going to say hi. Instead, she looks at me and said, “What did you do to look like that?!”. “Um…I don’t know. What do you mean?” She replied “Why does your skin look like that? Why are you glowing at 6:00 am?” IT WAS THE SLEEP MASK!  Done.

What are some major highlights for you over the last 6 months? 

“The last 6 months have been the craziest for the brand (besides launching during the pandemic.) We evolved the look and feel of the brand with new packaging and a new site, launched at Ulta.com and launched in 655 Target doors. Still don’t know how we did this!?”

What are you looking forward to in the next year?

“Relaxing? Nope. Honestly, I am proud of these formulas and this band that we have built. We stand for something different, and I am looking forward to seeing more people come to the brand. Being able to walk into a Target and see WLDKAT on shelves is a pretty amazing feeling.”
