I’m not one for sugar-coating anything so here’s the deal:
WLDKAT IS CLOSING AND YES, IT SUCKS!
How do I feel as the founder? Responsible, sad, happy, angry, relieved, calm, like a failure yet successful. The last four years have been the hardest of my life. WLDKAT probably shouldn’t have ever existed, but the “stars aligned” and so it was born. The brand started in the summer of 2019 in cannabis, pivoted to a CBD skincare brand at the end of 2019, launched 3 weeks into a worldwide pandemic in April 2020, had a new team working 100% remote, relaunched the brand without CBD in Sept 2021, brought the brand into two nationwide retailers, and built a cult-like community obsessed with what WLDKAT stands for. GRIT kept us going against every road block, but in the end we had to accept our path forward wasn’t the one we thought we would be on. Thank you to each human that helped support this brand from investors, retailers, partners, customers, friends and family.
